Dr. Yuan talks about diamonds: the state of the market for natural, synthetic red sapphires versus natural, cultivated diamonds
A friend asked by the natural, synthetic red sapphire market contrast state, to determine the future of the natural, cultivated diamond market.
Question 1: synthetic red blue treasure, did not affect the natural red sapphire market, natural but more expensive. Using this argument to cultivate diamonds will not affect natural diamonds, is it comparable?
Answer: There are several synthetic methods for the synthesis of red sapphire over the past hundred years: flame melting method, pulling method, hydrothermal method and cosolvent method. The first two synthetic ruby sapphires can be easily identified with a 10-fold magnifying glass, while the latter two require a laboratory professional appraiser to identify them. The prices of ruby and sapphire synthesized by different methods on the market are high and low, so they have their own systems with natural ruby and do not interfere with each other. It is difficult to identify natural and cultivated diamonds, but they can be separated by regular laboratories, so they will definitely be sold in the market in the same mode as natural and cultivated diamonds respectively. Natural red sapphire mining areas are distributed in various parts of the world, are small-scale mining, there is no problem of depletion. Natural diamonds are brought to the surface by volcanic eruptions. They are mainly tubular mines of volcanoes. Few parts are washed into rivers to form alluvial mines. There are still traces to be found. When each mine is mined out one after another, natural diamonds will be exhausted. Large and good natural diamonds will increase in price. Medium, small and poor natural diamonds are affected by the large grain size, good quality and low price of cultivated diamonds, consumers gradually give up medium, small and poor natural diamonds, thus falling prices.
Question 2: Synthetic ruby sapphires are currently so cheap, is it because? First, there is no big jewelry brand promotion, there is not so much demand. Second, technical barriers are not high, resulting in supply far exceeding demand. The difference in cultivating diamonds is that jewelry brands are already being promoted, and international recognition is also increasing. In the future, they will be treated as mainstream jewelry, and the demand will increase greatly. In addition, the technical barriers are also high, and the supply is limited, so the price will not be as cheap as synthetic ruby sapphires? If it is because of the above two reasons, why there is no organization like De Beers to promote synthetic ruby sapphires?
A: Natural ruby and sapphire mining areas are scattered, and the output of each mining area is small. There is no large group in maintenance and promotion. The cost and price of the lowest-end artificial ruby and sapphire are very low. The jewelry market is not large, and no group is interested in maintenance. It is difficult to cultivate diamond growth technology. The price of the products in the early stage is close to that of natural diamonds. Natural and cultivated diamonds are influenced by groups such as De Beers. Therefore, the right time, right place, with right people. has caused the cultivation of diamond industry to be valued. In the 2. 30 years, natural diamond mines will gradually dry up, and the vacant diamond market will be replenished by cultivated diamonds. At that time, the price of cultivated diamonds can be maintained by an appropriate group, following the way De Biles supports controls natural diamonds, maintaining a small-scale floating reasonable price. The surplus cultivated diamond production equipment can be gradually transferred to industrial uses with greater demand to cultivate diamond production.

Dr. Yuan Zhizhong, Chairman of Bench Diamond Technology, gave a lecture entitled "Identification of Gem Diamonds Cultivated by CVD Method" at the Appraisal Institute on the 11.9 at the invitation of the Appraisal Institute of Taiwan Gemological Institute. In the lecture, Yuan Dong introduced in detail the historical principles of CVD diamonds and their development status, and introduced in detail several methods to distinguish CVD diamonds from natural diamonds on how to identify gem-grade CVD diamonds that participants are concerned about! Yuan Dong's wonderful speech was well received by the participants!
Dr. Yuan Zhizhong, Chairman of Bench Diamond Technology, was invited by Hangzhou International Jewelry City to attend an academic symposium on November 19, 2013. At the symposium, Yuan Dong gave a speech entitled "International Situation and Identification of CVD Synthetic Diamonds" on the current situation of CVD synthetic diamonds that jewelers are concerned about and how to distinguish CVD diamonds from natural diamonds. In the speech, Yuan Dong introduced in detail the history of CVD diamonds, the international situation of CVD diamonds and the commonly used identification methods of CVD diamonds, and answered some questions raised by jewelers. Mr. Yuen's speech was well received by the participants, and all jewelers said they benefited.
