From November 11 to 14, the 2014 plenary meeting of the Kimberley Process was held in Guangzhou. The meeting was jointly organized by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the People's Government of Guangdong Province. Ji Bingxuan, Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Zhi Shuping, Director of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, Zhao Yufang, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, and Guangzhou Mayor Chen Jianhua, Chairman of the World Diamond Council Edward Ashcher, and representative of the Civil Society Alliance Martin Allen attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Wei Chuanzhong, chairman of the Kimberley Process in 2014 and former deputy director of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, presided over the meeting. A total of 300 representatives from 70 countries, the 43 members of the Kimberley Process, the World Diamond Council, the Alliance of African Diamond Producers, the Diamond Development Initiative and civil society coalitions participated in the meeting. Ji Bingxuan pointed out in his speech that China is currently a developing and open China. China has grown into the world's second largest diamond consumer and fourth largest rough diamond trading country. As a founding member of the Kimberley Process, China has been strictly abiding by the UN Security Council. Resolutions, earnestly implement the various systems of the process, and have the honor to lead the Kimberley Process forward as the chairman this year.
In his speech, Zhi Shuping thanked all members for their trust in China and fully affirmed the important role played by the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme in implementing UN resolutions, curbing conflict diamonds, maintaining regional peace and stability, and promoting the development of the international diamond industry.
Zhao Yufang pointed out in his speech that Guangdong is an important diamond processing center in China, and will take this conference as a new opportunity to further enhance the development of diamond processing industry clusters and trading markets, improve the diamond import and export supervision system, and build an important diamond processing and trading base in Asia. join hands with other countries to promote the healthy and orderly development of the international diamond industry.
In his speech, Chen Jianhua expressed his sincere thanks for choosing the plenary meeting to be held in Guangzhou. He said that the development of Guangzhou's diamond and jewelry industry started early and has now formed a relatively complete diamond industry chain, becoming China's main diamond processing base and regional trade center. Guangzhou will take this opportunity to promote the development of Guangzhou diamond industry and even the whole open economy.
Wei Chuanzhong, the 2014 Chairman of the Kimberley Process, recalled the achievements made by the Kimberley Process in helping and promoting the development of the diamond industry of its members since he became the 2014 Chairman of the Kimberley Process, especially on the issues of Central Africa and Côte d'Ivoire. At the same time, he called on the Kimberley Process family to further strengthen coordination and cooperation, continue to solve the current diamond supervision problems in some conflict areas, continuously improve the rules and procedures of the Kimberley Process, and strengthen the Kimberley Process, actively and pragmatically promote the development of the process.
At the opening ceremony, Wei Chuanzhong, Zhao Yufang, Chen Jianhua and Zhan Siming, director of Guangdong Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, jointly unveiled the Guangzhou Diamond Trading Center.
The conference fully affirmed the important role played by the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme in implementing United Nations resolutions, curbing conflict diamonds, maintaining regional peace and stability, and promoting the development of the international diamond industry. The development and progress reiterated the importance of the special cooperative relationship between the government, industry and civil organizations to the Kimberley Process.
The meeting discussed the regulation of rough diamonds in Central Africa, Côte d'Ivoire, Venezuela and other countries, as well as the Mano region, reviewed the 2013 annual reports of members, summarized the verification visits of the 2014 process to member countries, and further improved the statistical analysis of process data Mechanism, strengthened the study of diamond characteristics. The meeting adopted the communiqué of the 2014 plenary meeting of the Kimberley Process.

Dr. Yuan Zhizhong, Chairman of Bench Diamond Technology, was invited by Hangzhou International Jewelry City to attend an academic symposium on November 19, 2013. At the symposium, Yuan Dong gave a speech entitled "International Situation and Identification of CVD Synthetic Diamonds" on the current situation of CVD synthetic diamonds that jewelers are concerned about and how to distinguish CVD diamonds from natural diamonds. In the speech, Yuan Dong introduced in detail the history of CVD diamonds, the international situation of CVD diamonds and the commonly used identification methods of CVD diamonds, and answered some questions raised by jewelers.
