DiamondDetect 5 is a new three in one simple and easy to carry detection instrument that distinguishes natural/synthetic diamonds (DD9) from colorless and nearly colorless diamonds. It can identify cultivated diamonds, natural diamonds, natural color modified diamonds, etc. through three methods of detection, and both bare stones and embedded jewelry diamonds can be identified.
1、 First, test an appropriate amount of diamonds with a phosphorescence machine (DD5), and in the display screen, turn the entire grain and circle red to represent HPHT and some CVD diamonds. Take out the entire grain and circle of red diamonds, and evenly distribute the remaining areas showing red and colorless diamonds on the tray. Repeat the test and also take out the entire grain and circle of red diamonds. The remaining diamonds are natural or CVD diamonds.
2、 Use a UV-Vis fiber optic machine (DD3) to test the remaining diamonds from the aforementioned phosphorescent machine (the diamonds displayed in red do not need to be tested again), and the ones displayed in Ia type are natural diamonds.
3、 The above shows non Ia type diamonds, and when observed under a microscope using an orthogonal polarizer, they can be divided into two types: without comprehensive stripes and with comprehensive stripes. Among them, natural diamonds are those with no stripes and only regional stripes.
The ones with comprehensive stripes can be divided into two types:
1. The stripes are all "coarse and skewed" and are CVD diamonds; Those with colored stripes have not been changed, while those with gray blue stripes have been changed
2. The striped part has a "fine and straight" tatami shaped cross stripe, which is a natural brown IIa diamond that has undergone HPHT color modification to become colorless.
Natural diamonds have no stripes or only partial stripes.
This can complete the identification of natural/synthetic diamonds.
